Young Adults

Teens and tweens are facing unprecedented challenges. Anxiety has never been more prevalent, and neither have the opportunities to numb, dissociate and avoid. Most young people today are well aware of their predicament and the last thing they need is another adult telling them how to straighten up and fly right.
I was a troubled teenager and I remember well how deeply alone you can feel, struggling to develop a sense of self-value in a world bent on rendering you objectified and alienated. It's terrifying to grow up in this world. It's doubly scary or depressing when you don't know how to communicate your needs and get what you need from family and friends.
My goals with kids ages 12-18 is to validate their experience and help them develop self-esteem. My hope is that by helping teenagers in developing self-awareness and self-compassion, along with some hardcore strategies for coping, that they will be able to step into their identity with safety and confidence.
I also work closely with parents in the hopes that my services are not needed in the long-term.
